Save money and gain resilience with an Evolve LFP Energy Storage System

Vermont residents can purchase an Evolve LFP system at a discounted price with entry into Green Mountain Power’s Bring Your Own Device Program.

Participating customers get backup power at home and also share stored energy from their batteries with GMP during peak energy use times when power can be most expensive and dirtiest. This lowers costs and carbon for all GMP customers. The grid-connected Energy Storage Systems, create a “Virtual Power Plant” and the interconnected batteries can also create greater grid flexibility and help the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Eguana is offering Green Mountain Power customers an Eguana Evolve LFP for $1,999* (valued at $12,000 MSRP) when they join GMP's BYOD program and also allow Eguana to access advanced grid flexibility features of the battery system.

Additionally, purchases of all Evolve LFP systems may qualify for a 30% Investment Tax Credit, further reducing investment costs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who will install my battery system?
Eguana will refer you to a trained, licensed electrician to facilitate your install. The electrician will do an evaluation of your preferred installation location and your electrical panel before quoting the job.

Does the system work with my existing solar panels?
Yes. The Eguana battery system can charge from the grid and/or from a solar photovoltaic system.

If you are planning to have a solar system installed with your battery, Eguana will gladly put you in touch with one of our solar installation partners.

What are the dimensions of the system and where can it be installed?
The battery system measures in at 44" x 41" and is wallmounted. Eguana recommends installing your Evolve LFP near an electrical panel in your basement or garage. For further information about the product, please download the datasheet or the owner's manual.

How do I claim the ITC credit?
For more information on the ITC credit, including instructions on how to file a claim, click here.

How many appliances can I power during an outage?
While your fully charged 5kW / 14kWh system can power several of your home's essential loads, it is not a whole-home backup solution. Eguana customers typically prioritize appliances like fridges and furnaces as well as network and personal entertainment devices such as internet modems, laptops, and TVs.

Your installer will work with you directly to select the devices to which you can direct power and provide a more accurate estimate based on your usage patterns.

What battery chemistry are the Eguana batteries?
Eguana uses Lithium-Iron-Phosphate chemistry for its batteries. LFP batteries are known for their safety, boasting superior thermal stability, making them resistant to thermal runaway even under extreme conditions.

Why is Eguana selling the Evolve LFP at such an attractive price? Am I also eligible for a bill credit?
Eguana is offering a limited number of Vermont residents with a Green Mountain Power account a state-of-the-art battery system at the advertised rate (“first come – first served”) when they join GMP’s BYOD program to share energy during peaks to help lower costs and carbon and for allowing Eguana additional access to advanced grid flexibility features of the battery system. For further information, please refer to the Homeowner Agreement.
